La toponymie pour comprendre nos territoires

Conférence le vendredi 8 juin 2018 à 18h au Pôle Phoenix à Pleumeur-Bodou intitulée « la toponymie pour comprendre nos territoires » par Jacki PILON. En partenariat avec ArmorScience.
Résumé :
La toponymie est une branche de l’onomastique (étude des noms propres) qui étudie les toponymes, c’est-à-dire ceux des noms propres qui désignent un lieu.
Elle nous relie à l’espace qu’ont connu, nommé et aménagé nos ancêtres, et nous aide à comprendre cet espace.
Cette discipline difficile mais passionnante aborde non seulement le domaine des noms des bourgs, villages, hameaux et autres lieux habités, mais aussi celui des « microtoponymes », descriptions détaillées des parcelles élémentaires telles que les chemins ou les champs, etc.
A partir du travail réalisé sur quelques communes du Trégor, on s’est efforcé de dégager des méthodes d’investigation applicables aux autres communes, dans le but d’inciter leurs collectivités ou associations à exploiter les abondantes données toponymiques qui sont à leur disposition.

Sources épigraphiques et papyrologiques dans le monde méditerranéen antique
Argumentaire
La première journée d’étude sur les contacts graphiques et linguistiques qui s’est tenue le 28 février 2017 à Ausonius a marqué le début d’un panorama illustré de plusieurs cas d’études pris autour de la Méditerranée antique.
L’éclairage apporté par l’étude des noms issus de domaines linguistiques attestés parfois de manière fragmentaire permet de renouveler la recherche traditionnelle sur l’onomastique du monde méditerranéen et d’éclairer directement les moments de rencontre entre les populations locales et les colons et marchands (grecs, latins, phéniciens, etc.).
Les cas analysés ont révélé un peu plus encore la complexité de cette problématique, dans laquelle une attention aux données matérielles reste indispensable.
L’enjeu de cette seconde journée est de venir compléter de nouvelles pièces le puzzle entamé l’année passée. Ainsi, le périple méditerranéen s’enrichira de quelques étapes, géographiques et temporelles : domaine copte, thrace mais aussi germanique et latin.
Le caractère diachronique et transculturel de ces travaux fera de cette journée d’étude un atelier méthodologique utile à tous, largement ouvert aux débats et aux discussions.

Bibliographie de l'onomastique française
SFO
Publiés en 1977 et en 1987, les deux volumes L'onomastique française ont été élaborés par Marianne Mulon, responsable du Centre d'onomastique des Archives nationales jusqu'en 1991. Ils contiennent les références bibliographiques de tous les travaux antérieurs à 1985, classés par département ou par région (France métropolitaine). Ces deux ouvrages, visant à l'exhaustivité et totalisant plus de 12.000 références, peuvent être consultés au format PDF sur le site des Archives nationales >>>
Marianne Mulon a poursuivi jusqu'à son décès en 2011 son activité de recensement bibliographique. Les 4.000 références supplémentaires résultant de ces dépouillements, couvrant la période de 1985 à 2011, figurent dans le fichier suivant, dans lequel on a joint les références des deux volumes publiés par les A.N. Ce sont donc au total plus de 16.000 références de travaux concernant l'onomastique française, des origines à 2011, qui se trouvent consultables dans ce fichier.

I am conducting a research study about marital and family surname choices. If you agree to be part of the research study, you will be asked to answer a series of questions about choices you have made about your surname or family name, including choices about the surname of your children, and about what courtesy titles (e.g. Mr., Ms. Dr., etc.) you prefer to use. You will not be asked to provide your specific name or the name of any member of your family.
Participation in this study is completely voluntary. Even if you decide to participate now, you may change your mind and stop at any time. You may choose not to answer any survey question for any reason. There are no foreseeable risks associated with participation in this study, there is no payment or compensation for participation in this study, and there is no penalty for choosing not to participate in this study.

Onomastics Training Week by Persia & Babylonia project

From 29 May to 1 June, the Persia & Babylonia project (ERC project at Leiden University) is organising an interactive Onomastics Training Week in Venice, Italy. During this week, participating graduate students (MA/PhD) will learn from experts about the many-faceted name material in Neo-Babylonian and Late Babylonian sources. This includes names in other languages such as Egyptian, Anatolian, Greek, Old Persian and Elamite. Each topic will be explored in a lecture, followed by a workshop allowing students to deal with concrete examples.

Preliminary Study of the Most Frequent Russian, French and German Occupational Surnames

We have admitted that analysis of the most frequent surnames may be likened to the observation of the „tip of iceberg“, but, however, they may be illustrative and shed light on some specific details. After the establishment of a promising study based on the 100 most frequent Russian, French German and British surnames (SHOKHENMAYER 2016), we turn now to examine the occupational surnames. For our part, we set as a goal to clarify to what extent the professional occupations, or a professionally name-driven motives, are to be similar in Germany, France and Russia. Therefore, the contrastive analysis of the most frequent Russian, French German occupational surnames is reasoned by the singular situation of their onomasticons: for although they have much in common with the rest of neighbouring communities in the essential linguistic system due to their genetic relationship and cultural affinity, their surnames subsist in and have originated within very different historical and social circumstances. The intention here is, first, to compare percentages of occupation-based surname groups from each country, second, to note similarities and differences between them and, third, to discuss results.

Toloño y Cantabria: dos sierras, dos nombres

Este miércoles, 18 de abril, nuestro asociado Salvador Velilla disertará en Vitoria sobre los orónimos Toloño y Cantabria. El acto está organizado por la Comisión de Álava de la Real Sociedad de los Amigos del País y se enmarca dentro de las celebraciones en torno al 250º aniversario de la sociedad humanista. Salvador Velilla sostiene, exactamente como la Sociedad Vasca de Onomástica, que Toloño y Cantabria son dos referentes claramente diferenciados geográfica e históricamente, cada uno con su nombre y circunstancias históricas propias, conviviendo con buena salud y en perfecta armonía hasta que, por razones que son difíciles de comprender, nos han presentado a uno de ellos (Toloño) como genuino y al otro (Cantabria) como exógeno e impuesto. Pretender superponer un nombre sobre el otro es, por tanto, ilegítimo y un atentado contra el patrimonio onomástico del país y de sus gentes, tal como lo expresó la Sociedad Vasca de Onomástica en un comunicado.

L'Office de tourisme Val ès dunes, émanation de la Communauté de communes organise une conférence le vendredi 20 avril, salle Clairjoie de Frénouville.
Nous irons à la découverte de l'origine des jolis noms de nos communes ou des lieux-dits avec Mr Dominique Fournier, éminent linguiste auteur d'un livre sur la toponymie de notre région qu'il dédicacera à cette occasion.

1. Городской топоним (наименование городов, улиц, площадей, переулков и проч.) как носитель исторической памяти и объект культурного наследия;
2. Исторические закономерности и региональная специфика формирования городской топонимики;
3. Этапы развития городской топонимики в контексте исторического развития Российского государства;
4. Городская топонимика в идеологической и культурной политике советского государства;
5. Опыт возвращения исторических названий в 1990-е - начале 2000-х гг.;
6. Современная топонимическая картина российского города;
7. Историческое сознание современного городского социума и проблемы возвращения названий
22 июня в рамках работы Конференции пройдет Отчетно-выборная конференция СКР.
23 июня в одном из городов Подмосковья будет организован выездной Круглый стол по проблемам топонимики.
Предполагается публикация сборника докладов - статьи публикуются при условии личного участия в Конференции. Текст предоставляется в Оргкомитет не позднее 22 июня 2018 г. в электронном виде и на бумажном носителе (в обязательном порядке!) . Текст публикуется при условии полного соответствия требованиям Оргкомитета (высылаются специальным информационным письмом после утверждения заявки Оргкомитетом). Статьи, не соответствующие утвержденной теме выступления и не отвечающие требованиям по содержанию и оформлению, к публикации не принимаются.
