Job Description:

AllWorld Language Consultants, Inc. (ALC) is a consulting firm that provides a vast array of technical and professional services such as: translation, interpretation, transcription, Title III intercepts, multi-media production, training, and intelligence support. We are looking to fill& a temporary Chinese Mandarin Toponymist position in Springfield, VA. We expect the position to last for 4-5 months. Please note that relocation expenses are not reimbursable for this position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
3-10 years of relevant experience.
Note: *A Bachelors Degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to four years of their experience.
**A Masters Degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to two additional years of this experience.
***A Doctorate Degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to three additional years of this experience.

The skill set includes:

*US Citizenship
*Top Secret SCI Security Clearance (if you do not already possess a TS/SCI security clearance we will not be able to process you for this position)
*A minimum proficiency skill level 2 for Reading is required as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR). Test scores are required to be within two years old. If you have previous language test results, please submit when submitting your resume. DLPT scores are also acceptable.
*Experience using ArcGIS or GeoMedia Pro software and common office business software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet browsers). If you have taken a course in the above, please submit proof/certificates when submitting your resume.
*Expertise in research and information gathering.
*Experience with native maps, secondary source maps, historic maps used for extraction and comparison, mapping imagery for stereo and mono extraction at various resolutions.
*Experience creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features including data retrieval/storage.
*Familiar with transliteration systems, including but not limited those in use by the BGN and the PCGN.
*Basic skill in map reading, cartography and GIS.
*Ability/Knowledge of searching NES and other Intelligence Communities databases
*Previous collaboration or working knowledge of the NGA
*Previous collaboration or working knowledge of NGAs report writing procedures/standards
*Able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
*Ability to work independently with minimal or no oversight
*Desirable skills/experience: specific experience processing geographic names.
