Some of the proceeds from sales of ‘In the Beginning was the Name’ are being used to fund an annual NICOLAISEN ESSAY PRIZE of £75 in honour of our late Honorary Praeses, Professor Bill Nicolaisen.
Students are invited to submit original work of around 5,000 words on any onomastic topic by the deadline of 31 December. Submissions should be sent electronically to the Society’s Convener, Professor Carole Hough at carole.hough@glasgow.ac.uk. The winner will also be invited to give a paper at an SPNS conference.
