Публикация материалов предполагается к началу конференции. Сборник статей будет включен в РИНЦ. Текст статьи должен соответствовать теме конференции, быть тщательно выверен и отредактирован. Статьи, не соответствующие тематике конференции, будут отклонены. Принимаются статьи на башкирском, русском, английском, турецком языках объемом до 7 страниц.

Interdisciplinary conference "Mapping Space Mapping Time Mapping Texts"

This two-day interdisciplinary conference is hosted by the AHRC Funded Chronotopic Cartographies project in partnership with The British Library. It comes out of primary research into the digital visualisation of space and time for fictional works that have no real-world correspondence. Chronotopic Cartographies develops digital methods and tools that enable the mapping of literary works by generating graphs as “maps” directly out of the coded text.

The Call for Papers emerges from the project and the interdisciplinary fields that it draws upon: literature; narratology; corpus linguistics; onomastics; digital and spatial  humanities; geography; cartography; gaming.  We welcome papers from those working in or across these fields but also from anyone with an interest in the problematics of mapping, visualising and analysing space, time and text from any disciplinary perspective. We seek to bring together and juxtapose different approaches in order to advance knowledge. 

We invite submissions in the form of either 20-minute papers or 5-minute poster sessions. Individuals giving a paper or poster may also wish to run informal workshops for shared knowledge exchange.

Questions and Areas of Interest:  What kind of digital models are most useful for the Humanities?  How do insights from the Humanities reshape digital methods?  What can mapping a text uncover or reveal? What happens if we release mapping from GIS? How can we connect virtual, actual and imaginative pathways meaningfully? How do we productively move between visual and verbal meaning?  How do we accommodate the multiple dimensions of literature within 2D, 3D or 4D space? How do we ground time? Does everything have to happen somewhere? How do we map unquantifiable space and place? What is the value of “fuzzy” geography?

L’étymologie a joué un rôle très important dans la littérature védique, aussi bien dans les nombreux mythes étiologiques qui se retrouvent dans les plus anciens textes brahmaniques que dans la réflexion plus tardive qui se prétend plus scientifique. On trouve dans ces textes des procédés similaires à ceux que l’on peut observer dans les textes grecs et latins qui s’intéressent à l’étymologie mais on en observe également d’autres qui sont spécifiques à la culture indienne et à la réflexion sur la langue que les Indiens ont développé dès l’Antiquité. Parmi les noms qui ont fait l’objet d’étymologies, les théonymes se placent au premier rang : notamment ceux des divinités qui sont étroitement liées au sacrifice, comme Agni, mais aussi les noms d’autres divinités du panthéon védique. Il ne faut pas oublier que le sacrifice et les célébrations cultuelles constituaient le moment central de la culture védique. Nous analyserons les différentes techniques employées dans les textes brahmaniques, ainsi que dans le Nirukta, afin de présenter et justifier les étymologies des théonymes. Nous nous concentrerons en particulier sur une technique, le paroksa, à travers lequel on attribue aux divinités la volonté de garder le mystère autour de la vraie origine et le vrai sens d’un nom, qui ne serait pas accessible aux hommes. Cela crée une sorte de scission entre le monde des divinités et celui des hommes.

Séminaire Toponymie pendant les Journées "Langue et Culture occitanes à la Région Occitanie"

Les 28 et 29 novembre auront lieu deux journées à l’Hôtel de Région à Toulouse autour de la thématique de la langue pour le développement territorial avec de nombreux intervenants qualifiés.

Elles sont organisées par Lo Congrès permanent de la lenga occitana, le CIRDOC – Institut occitan de cultura et l’Office Public de la Langue Occitane (OPLO) en partenariat avec la Région Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée.

C’est un programme fort complet qui sera présenté aux participants, à savoir principalement des conférences d’acteurs majeurs de la toponymie (Bénédicte BOYRIE-FÉNIÉ, toponymiste, Patrice POUJADE, professeur à l’Université de Perpignan ou encore Philippe ABADIE, de l’IGN), de la sociolinguistique occitane (Jean-Yves AGARD, docteur en sociologie, Vincent RIVIÈRE du Congrès, ou encore Carmen ALEN GARABATO, sociolinguiste à l’Université de Montpellier) mais aussi des collectivités (Carole DELGA, présidente de la Région Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée, ou encore Magali BLÉNET, chargée de mission de la ville de Toulouse), ou des partenaires de structures plus lointaines (La Chambra d’Òc des vallées occitanes d’Italie, l’Office Public de la Langue Bretonne).

Pour concrétiser les avancées réalisées en matière de langue pour le développement territorial, une convention sera signée entre Lo Congrès permanent de la lenga occitana et l’Institut national de l’information géographique et forestière (IGN) en présence de Carole DELGA, le jeudi 29 novembre à 18h30.

Ces journées seront également l’occasion de fêter la convivialité et l’échange d’expériences dans un cadre plus léger, avec un concert d’Anda-Lutz (de la Cie Guillaume Lopez), samedi soir.

The Institute for Bulgarian Language “Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin” (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) is pleased to announce the forthcoming edition of its Annual International Conference (ConfIBL2020), which also marks the Institute’s 78th anniversary. The Conference will take place on 13 – 15 May 2020 in Sofia.

Meeting Description:

The 10th International Symposium on Investigations into Romanian and European Biblical Traditions, organized by the “Monumenta linguae Dacoromanorum” Biblical and Philological Studies Center of Alexandru Ioan University, together with the Biblical Philology and Hermeneutics Association in Romania, the “A. Philippide” Institute of Romanian Philology (Romanian Academy – Iasi Branch), and the Metropolis of Moldavia and Bukovina, will take place in Iaşi from May 21 to 23, 2020.

The Symposium aims to encourage multi- and interdisciplinary debates on the issues raised by the publication, translation, interpretation, dissemination and reception of sacred texts into Romanian and other modern languages. The conference will include both plenary lectures and separate sessions.
The official languages of the Symposium will be Romanian, English, and French.

Call for Papers:

The deadline for submission is December 20, 2019.
Selected papers will be published in a collective volume by the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University Press, Iasi.

Sections

1. Philological Challenges

- Publication of the biblical texts. Textual criticism and palaeography. Sacred texts computerization and digitization.
- The biblical text as a reference point in the diachronic study of language. Lexicology and biblical semantics. Biblical phraseology. Biblical onomastics.
- Lesser known, partial translations of the Bible: books and book fragments kept in old manuscripts from the 16th and 17th centuries, and their textual relationship with popular Romanian versions.
- Stylistic interference and demarcation: biblical, liturgical and theological sapiential varieties of clerical styles. The role of the Bucharest Bible (1688) in the creation of the Romanian clerical style in the 18th and 19th centuries.

2. Translation Challenges

- Typology of biblical translations. Literal and free translation. Translation theory and sacred texts.
- Unique source vs. multiple source. The “original texts” of the Bible – different textual traditions reflected in the Romanian translations.
- Relationships among successive biblical versions: the Sibiu Gospels (1551-1553) and the Coresi Gospels; the Coresi Gospels and Epistles and the Bălgrad New Testament (1648); the Bucharest Bible (1688) and the Blaj Bible (1795); the Blaj Bible and the Şaguna, Filotei editions and the 1914 Bible, the Cornilescu versions etc.
- Reference works for all time Bible translations: lexicons, dictionaries, concordances, critical editions, auxiliary versions, etc.

3. Biblical Hermeneutics

- Confessional and theological choices and conditioning (dogmatic, canonical, clerical, worship-related etc.). Theological censorship, political censorship.
- Patristic tradition — reference points and criteria for sacred texts’ interpretation.
- The Bible and the literary clerical system: relationships and determinations between the sacred text and clerical hymnography, worship-related literature, iconography, exegetic and homiletic literature.

4. Sacred Texts’ Historical Reception

- Integration, dynamics and stylization of biblical quotations in Romanian and other literatures.
- Dissemination of Romanian Bible versions. Historical references and main Romanian biblical versions criticism (the Bucharest Bible, the Blaj Bible etc.). Textual relationships (borrowing, “corrections”, adaptations etc.) between different biblical versions.
- Romanian culture and the Bible. Biblical motifs, symbols, structures and characters.
- Cultural interferences and mentalities impacting the reception of sacred texts: anthropological, sociological, political or philosophical aspects.

We also welcome other interpretations of the Conference theme.

The official languages of the Symposium will be Romanian, English and French.

Presentació de l’ "Onomàstica de l’antic terme de la Mussara"

L’Oficina d’Onomàstica de l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans acaba de publicat l’Onomàstica de l’antic terme de la Mussara, de Ramon Amigó, que va ser vicepresident de la nostra societat durant molts d’anys. La presentació serà a càrrec de Pere Navarro, professor de la URV i membre de la Societat d’Onomàstica.

Onomàstica de l’antic terme de la Mussara apareix pòstumament, vuit anys després de la mort de Ramon Amigó, i correspon a la versió que ell mateix va acabar d’enllestir l’any 2010. Com explica l’autor a la introducció, aquest darrer treball seu presenta molt pocs canvis respecte de la primera edició d’aquesta monografia onomàstica dedicada a la Mussara –publicada el 1963 amb el títol Els topònims del terme municipal i del poble de la Mussara–, uns canvis que se centren fonamentalment en una nova ordenació del corpus onomàstic, ara alfabètica, mentre que la primera havia estat organitzada temàticament, a més de la incorporació d’algunes precisions en la informació que ja hi constava.

Com indica Joan Anton Rabella en el prefaci: “El treball present és una mostra més del seu mestratge, plenament vigent, i al mateix temps també és un merescut homenatge a la persona, entranyable i rigorosa, i a la seva magnífica tasca, però també als seus paisatges, que retrobem aquí amb l’especial estima que sentia per la Mussara, a la qual va tornar una vegada i una altra, tant en els seus treballs com personalment”.

Lietuvių kalbos institute vyko 4-oji tarptautinė mokslinė Aleksandro Vanago konferencija „Tikriniai žodžiai erdvėje ir erdvė tikriniuose žodžiuose“

2019 m. lapkričio 7–9 d. Lietuvių kalbos institute vyko 4-oji tarptautinė mokslinė Aleksandro Vanago konferencija „Tikriniai žodžiai erdvėje ir erdvė tikriniuose žodžiuose“. Lietuvių kalbininko, profesoriaus, žymiausio XX a. antrosios pusės lietuvių onomasto vardu pavadintos konferencijos organizuojamos jau nuo 2004 m. Šiais metais kalbininkas būtų šventęs 85-metį. Aleksandro Vanago darbai lietuvių vardyno tyrimų srityje buvo ir tebėra itin reikšmingi. Daugiausia dėmesio jis skyrė lietuvių vandenvardžiams – tyrė ne tik jų darybą, kilmę ir semantiką, bet ir domėjosi kitų klasių vietovardžiais, nepaliko nuošalyje ir asmenvardžių, kalbų kontaktų problematikos. Šios konferencijos pavadinimas aprėpia ir visas A. Vanago tyrimų sritis, ir naujesnes onomastikos kryptis.

Anot renginį pradėjusios akademikės prof. dr. Grasildos Blažienės, ši konferencija – tai ypatingas įvykis Lietuvių kalbos institutui, Baltų kalbų ir vardyno tyrimų centrui ir, žinoma, lietuvių onomastikai. Profesorė perskaitė Lietuvos Respublikos Seimo Švietimo ir mokslo komiteto pirmininko akademiko prof. dr. Eugenijaus Jovaišos sveikinimą, kuriame buvo pažymėta, jog „Aleksandras Vanagas tarsi burtininkas mums prakalbino šio krašto žemes ir vandenis, istorikams patikimai žymėjo lietuvių ir visų baltų žemių ribas, pateikė neįkainojamų žinių etnogenezės klausimais“. Lietuvių kalbos instituto direktorė dr. Albina Auksoriūtė priminė, kad šiuos metus Lietuvos Respublikos Seimas paskelbė Vietovardžių metais. Ji džiaugėsi, kad ši konferencija gražiai užbaigs nemažą Vietovardžių metams skirtų renginių ciklą.

Į tarptautinę konferenciją „Tikriniai žodžiai erdvėje ir erdvė tikriniuose žodžiuose“ susirinko būrys svečių ir pranešėjų iš 18 pasaulio valstybių ir Lietuvos mokslo institucijų. Konferencijos kviestiniai pranešėjai iš Estijos, Latvijos, Lenkijos, Švedijos, Vengrijos ir Vokietijos pristatė naujausius įvairių onomastikos krypčių tyrimų rezultatus.

Per pirmąjį plenarinį posėdį habil. dr. Haraldas Bichlmeieris (Saksonijos mokslų akademija Leipcige, Vokietija) kalbėjo apie skirtingų klasių Lietuvos toponimų morfologijos skirtumus ir paraleles, detaliai išnagrinėjo upėvardžio Nemunas kilmės galimybes, prof. habil. dr. Urszula Bijak (Lenkijos mokslų akademijos Lenkų kalbos institutas, Lenkija) nagrinėjo erdvės ir kraštovaizdžio raišką toponimijoje, akad. prof. dr. Grasilda Blažienė (Lietuvių kalbos institutas, Lietuva) aptarė baltų onimus istorinėje erdvėje išskirdama galindų problematiką, prof. dr. Staffanas Nyströmas (Upsalos universitetas, Švedija) supažindino su vietovardžių radimosi tendencijomis augančiame Stokholme.

Antrajame plenariniame posėdyje kviestiniai pranešėjai toliau diskutavo onomastikos temomis: asoc. prof. dr. Laimute Balode (Helsinkio universitetas, Suomija / Latvijos universiteto Latvių kalbos institutas, Latvija) supažindino su 100 populiariausių vardų Latvijoje, dr. Peeteris Pällis (Estų kalbos institutas, Estija) perskaitė pranešimą apie estų gyvenamųjų vietų vardų kilmę, PD habil. dr. Christiane Schiller (Berlyno Humboldtų universitetas, Vokietija) aptarė kartografinių metodų potencialą onomastikos tyrimams, dr. Valéria Tóth (Debreceno universitetas, Vengrija) kalbėjo apie kalbos ir kultūros santykį toponimijos sistemos kontekste.

Per dvi dienas trijose sekcijose perskaityta daugiau nei 50 pranešimų įvairiomis onomastikos temomis. Daugiausia kalbėta apie dabartinius ir istorinius vietovardžius bei asmenvardžius tiek jų tradicinių, tiek naujesnių tyrimų kontekste. Skirta dėmesio ir tokioms mažiau įprastoms tyrimų sritims, kaip roko grupių pavadinimai, vergų įvardijimas vergovės laikotarpiu ir kt.

Tarptautinio mokslinio renginio dalyviams buvo suorganizuota kultūrinė programa. Pirmąją konferencijos dieną svečiai aplankė Lietuvių kalbos instituto kalbos muziejų „Lituanistikos židinys“. Trečiąją mokslinio renginio dieną vyko simbolinis „onomastinis“ pasivaikščiojimas po Vilniaus senamiestį.

4-oji tarptautinė mokslinė Aleksandro Vanago konferencija „Tikriniai žodžiai erdvėje ir erdvė tikriniuose žodžiuose“ subūrė įvairiais onomastikos tyrimo aspektais besidominčią tarptautinę onomastų bendruomenę. Onomastai iš viso pasaulio pasidalijo skirtingomis onimų tyrimų teorijomis ir metodologijomis. Mokslo renginys padėjo apibrėžti lietuvių onomastikos tyrimų vietą tarptautinėje erdvėje ir tapo dar viena pakopa jų tarptautiškumo link. Конференция «Современные направления развития физической географии: научные и образовательные аспекты в целях устойчивого развития» откроется 13 ноября в БГУ

Двухдневная международная научно-практическая конференция «Современные направления развития физической географии: научные и образовательные аспекты в целях устойчивого развития» откроется 13 ноября в БГУ (ул. Ленинградская, 16, ауд. 212). Начало 10.00. 

Ее проведение направлено на обмен опытом, развитие физической географии, усиление интеграции науки и географического образования.

Участниками форума станут более 200 ученых научно-исследовательских учреждений, вузов, аспирантов, магистрантов и студентов, учителей географии из семи стран мира: Беларуси, России, Украины, Польши, Германии, Китая и Таджикистана.

В рамках конференции состоится работа четырех тематических секций: «Теория и методология физической географии. Современные методы и технологии физико-географических исследований. Геоинформационное картографирование природных ресурсов», «Рациональное природопользование и устойчивое развитие регионов», «Актуальные проблемы палеогеографии и биогеографии. Особо охраняемые природные территории. Краеведение и зеленый туризм», «Региональная топонимика и ономастика. Методика преподавания географии. Образование для устойчивого развития. История Белорусского географического общества».

В программу мероприятия также включены круглые столы по изменению климата, педагогическая мастерская с мастер-классами опытных педагогов и методистов. Для всех желающих будут организованы открытые лекции преподавателей МГУ им. М.В. Ломоносова и Смоленского государственного университета. Слушатели узнают о трансформации земельного покрова на зональном и макрорегиональном уровнях, экологическом каркасе и др.

Итогом двухдневной работы конференции станет публикация сборника материалов участников.
Организатором научного мероприятия выступает кафедра физической географии мира и образовательных технологий БГУ и Белорусское географическое общество.

The translation of the neological term properhood into French

Abstract: In this note, we will focus on the translation of the neological term properhood from English into French. Since the 2000s, British Professor Richard Coates formulated a new theory of “properhood”. The term in question was coined to designate the property of a lexeme to be a proper name. We associate the notion of proprialité thereto, i.e. the ability for a term to be singular and not common, and we argue the translation of properhood with that expression.

De la traduction du néologisme properhood en français

Résumé : Dans cette note nous nous concentrerons sur la traduction de l’anglais vers le français d’un terme néologique properhood. À partir des années 2000, le Professeur britannique Richard Coates formule une nouvelle théorie de « properhood ». Le terme en question a été artificiellement forgé pour pouvoir désigner la propriété qu’a une lexie d’être nom propre. Nous y associons la notion de proprialité, i.e. la faculté pour une lexie d’être singulière, et non pas  commune, et c’est avec ce terme que nous proposons de traduire properhood.

Die Übersetzung des Neologismus properhood ins Französische

Zusammenfassung: In dieser Anmerkung werden wir uns mit der Übersetzung eines neologischen Begriffs properhood aus dem Englischen ins Französische beschäftigen. Ab den 2000er Jahren formulierte der britische Professor Richard Coates eine neue Theorie der „properhood“. Der Fachbegriff wurde geprägt, um die Eigenschaft eines Nomens als Proprium zu bezeichnen. Wir verbinden damit das Konzept von proprialité d.h. die Fähigkeit eines Wortes proprial und nicht appellativisch zu sein. Dazu wird es argumentiert, warum wir den Begriff properhood mit proprialité übersetzen.
