Founded in 1950, Onoma (ISSN: 0078-463X; e-ISSN: 1783-1644) is the oldest journal in the field of onomastics and occupies a central role in the discipline. Since the Vol. 32, Onoma has been inviting topical research reports as well as articles and reviews of general, theoretical and historical interest concerning all areas of scholarly name research. The journal is published by and on behalf of the International Council of Onomastic Sciences (ICOS), the most broadly based organization in the field of onomastics. It accepts studies written in English, French, and German, which are double-blind peer-reviewed, following the highest standards of current international practice.

PROSOPOGRAPHIE ET ONOMASTIQUE FÉMININES

Atelier organisé par Robinson Baudry, Madalina Dana, Sylvain Destephen, Karine Karila-Cohen, et Ivana Savalli-Lestrade

La prosopographie est une discipline ambitieuse qui entend ou prétend rassembler et étudier l’ensemble de la documentation disponible pour une période historique donnée afin de reconstituer la structure et l’évolution d’un groupe humain déterminé. Il est dès lors indispensable de prendre conscience des limites, des travers et des manques des sources conservées. Ces biais sont d’autant plus importants quand on s’intéresse aux femmes qui, jusqu’à une date récente, étaient davantage spectatrices qu’actrices d’une histoire écrite, occupée, incarnée par des hommes de manière souvent exclusive. L’idée d’appliquer la méthode prosopographique à un groupe spécifiquement féminin s’inscrit dans le développement plus général de l’histoire des femmes à partir des années 1970, et il faut saluer l’œuvre désormais pionnière que Marie-Thérèse Raepsaet-Charlier a consacrée aux femmes de l’ordre sénatorial du Haut-Empire.

Depuis les années 2000, d’autres études ont vu le jour et porté sur les femmes les mieux documentées, c’est-à-dire celles qui appartiennent à la classe dirigeante. Dames du Moyen Empire égyptien, entourage féminin des diadoques d’Alexandre le Grand, femmes évergètes du monde hellénistique, notables de l’Hispanie romaine ou grandes aristocrates du Mezzogiorno médiéval constituent autant de groupes féminins récemment étudiés qui ont en commun d’être associés de près au pouvoir des hommes qu’elles soutiennent ou suppléent plus qu’elles ne les concurrencent. Il se pose alors la question de savoir si la prosopographie féminine est par essence plus élitiste, plus restrictive et plus biaisée que la prosopographie masculine en raison de la mention plus rare des femmes dans la documentation antique ou médiévale. L’onomastique permet sans doute de nuancer cet aperçu sommaire a priori négatif en révélant comment et combien l’étude sérielle des noms féminins de catégories parfois modestes offre la possibilité de pouvoir écrire une histoire des femmes qui ne soit pas uniquement celle des impératrices et des sénatrices. Il nous semble par conséquent opportun de nous interroger, pour ce troisième atelier prosopographique, sur les rapports tissés -dans les travaux sur les femmes et le genre- entre l’étude des personnes et celle des noms. Comment s’entrecroisent les considérations biographiques/sociologiques et philologiques, quelles avancées les unes permettent-elles dans le champ des autres ?

The conference is organized to the 60th anniversary of the Czech onomastic journal appearing as Acta onomastica since 1995.

The journal was founded in 1960 by Vladimír Šmilauer, the father of the modern Czech onomastics. In the period of 1960–1982, it was published under the title Zpravodaj Místopisné komise ČSAV (‘the Bulletin of the Onomastic Committee of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences’) later as Onomastický zpravodaj(ČSAV) (‘the Onomastic Bulletin of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences’).

Guidelines for Presentations and Registration

The conference languages are Czech and English. The authors are responsible for the content and language of their papers. Presentations of papers should not exceed 15 minutes; PowerPoint presentations are required.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is November 15, 2019. You will be notified about the acceptance of your paper no later than December 31, 2019. All participants whose presentations are accepted must pay the fee (the payment must be received no later than February 15, 2020) in order to be included in the conference programme.

The conference papers are planned to be published in the journal of Acta onomastica (indexed in SCOPUS), after standard review processes. The deadline for submitting the final versions of your texts is August 31, 2020 (z.dvorakova@ujc.cas.cz, Žaneta Dvořáková).

Konference se uskuteční v Ostravě v termínu 20.–22. dubna 2020. Je věnována 60. výročí založení českého onomastického časopisu, který od roku 1995 vychází pod názvem Acta onomastica.

Časopis byl založen roku 1960 Vladimírem Šmilauerem, otcem moderní české onomastiky. V letech 1960–1982 vycházel pod názvem Zpravodaj Místopisné komise ČSAV, později pak jako Onomastický zpravodaj (ČSAV).

Referáty a registrace

Konferenčními jazyky jsou čeština a angličtina. Autoři jsou zodpovědní za obsah a jazykovou stránku svých příspěvků. Prezentace referátu by neměla přesáhnout 15 minut; povinnou součástí referátu je prezentace v programu PowerPoint.

Termín odevzdání abstraktů je 15. listopadu 2019. Oznámení o (ne)přijetí referátu obdrží přihlášení do 31. prosince 2019. Všichni účastníci, jejichž příspěvek bude přijat, musí zaplatit konferenční poplatek, aby mohli být zahrnuti do programu konference. Platba musí být přijata nejpozději do 15. února 2020.

Konferenční příspěvky budou publikovány v časopise Acta onomastica (časopis je indexován v databázi SCOPUS), a to po standardním recenzním řízení. Termín odevzdání finálních textů je 31. srpna 2020 (z.dvorakova@ujc.cas.cz, Žaneta Dvořáková). Do předmětu e-mailu prosím uveďte své příjmení a zkratku ACTA 60.

Résumé du projet postdoctoral (10 lignes maximum): La BDLC est un outil qui vise à stocker et analyser des données linguistiques qui devrait intégrer. La banque de données devrait, à terme, intégrer la question onomastique, notamment par le biais d’un traitement lexicographique. Ce projet vise donc à acquérir les compétences nécessaires afin de mettre en œuvre un dictionnaire, scientifiquement conçu, des noms propres de la Corse, la toponymie constituant le premier jalon de volets lexicographiques en création.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• To develop, conduct and manage the research programme including establishing and maintaining external collaborations both nationally and internationally. 
• To undertake internationally excellent research in terms of originality, significance and rigour and to design and produce appropriate research methods and research plans to carry out the research programme. 
• To develop a track record of publications of internationally excellent standard in peer reviewed journals or other venues of the highest quality and esteem, with evidence of one or more publications of world leading quality (equivalent to 4* rating in UK REF2014) since 1 January 2014.  
• To work towards selection for submission to future REF exercises, by developing independence of research either by leading on a significant research project or by gaining funding as Principal Investigator and by producing a sufficient volume of publications of the appropriate quality. 
• To present research findings at high profile, national and international conferences, seminars and meetings to raise the profile of the research and the University.
