Just in time for his birthday in Berlin, he was able to receive the new volume of "his" series on Romance personal names.
We look forward to his blog contributions and to the interesting Festschrift that will be published on this occasion.

He is a corresponding member of the Academia Portuguesa da História and the Real Academia Galega and, since 2011, Chairman of the German Society for Onomastics.
