Adeleye Jotoyoko, a tax consultant presented the proposal to the House of Reps’ Special Committee on Constitutional Review at the South West Zonal Public Hearing in Lagos,stating that the name ‘Nigeria’ was imposed on us by the past colonial masters.
According to Jokotoye, he chose the ‘United African Republic’ because Nigeria is made up of hundreds of ethnic groups that need to be united.
