The Institute for Bulgarian Language “Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin” (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) is pleased to announce the forthcoming edition of its International Jubilee Conference (ConfIBL2022), which also marks the Institute’s 80th anniversary.
The Conference has established itself as a prestigious forum for sharing the latest achievements and trends in all areas of the study of the Bulgarian language in Bulgaria and around the world, as well as the advances of the ten departments of the Institute, including research carried out under national and international projects and in cooperation with scholarly centres in Bulgaria and abroad.
The Conference scope covers (but is not limited to) the following areas:
- Contemporary Bulgarian Language
- Bulgarian Lexicology and Lexicography
- Terminology and Terminography
- History of Bulgarian Language
- Bulgarian Dialectology
- Bulgarian Etymology
- Bulgarian Onomastics
- Ethnolinguistics
- General and Comparative Linguistics
- Computational Linguistics
The following thematic sessions are planned:
Bulgarian Language in the Modern World;
Language Resources for Bulgarian;
Bulgarian Linguistic Cultural and Historical Heritage in the Context of Globalisation.

Conference Format
Depending on the circumstances, the Conference will take place as an in-person, virtual or hybrid meeting. The decision about the Conference format will be announced in spring 2022, but early enough to make possible the organisation of trips if the in-person format is possible.
