Onomastics as an important part of the Doctoral Program "General and Comparative Linguistics" at the Institute for the Bulgarian Language

Associate Professor Maya Vlahova for one of the tracks in the Doctoral Program "General and Comparative Linguistics" - onomastics, within which the Institute for the Bulgarian Language has established traditions.

The Institute for the Bulgarian Language announces a competition for the admission of regular doctoral students for the academic year 2026-2027 („State Gazette“ No 73 of 14.08.2026).

As our doctoral students, you will have the opportunity:

🔹 to contribute with your own research to the study and description of the Bulgarian language and its place among the other languages;

🔹 to work with language data, dictionaries, corpuses, and specialized language resources;

🔹 to be trained under the guidance of established specialists in various fields of linguistics;

🔹 to participate in scientific research projects;

🔹 to promote your work through publications and reports at scientific conferences in Bulgaria and abroad;

🔹 to participate in various forms of academic mobility, including the "Erasmus+" program;

🔹 to be established as young researchers and to lay the foundations for your scientific career.
