Essex Names-Studies Conference
The Essex Names-Studies Conference highlighted in earlier issues of this newsletter will be hosted jointly by the Essex Society for Archaeology and History and the Essex Place-Names Project and will take place on Saturday 18 March 2017, 10.30am-3.30pm at the Essex Record Office.
It will be on medieval landscape history - but also celebrating the work of the Place-Names Project.
Speakers so far confirmed are:
Dr Jim Galloway on "Medieval Marshlands and Environmental Change",
Professor Steven Rippon of Exeter University on "Medieval Estates" and
Dr Chris Thornton on "Wick Farms".
