The 2nd International Onomastic Symposium on Turkic Names

The Department of Kazakh Language and Turkic studies of Nazarbayev University (Republic of Kazakhstan) together with the Institute of Turkic World Studies of Ege University (Republic of Turkey) hosted the II International Symposium of Onomastics May 20-22, 2022 with the support of International Turkic Academy.

The purpose of the symposium was to discuss topical issues of Turkic world onomastics, to unite scientists working in this field, to stimulate scientists to new scientific research, to resume scientific discussions and debates, to define and bring to a unified system of naming principles in the Turkic world.

President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali, Director of the Institute for Turkic World Studies of the Aegean University Nadim Majit, scientists and students of Nazarbayev University, as well as scientists, students from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Poland, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine took part in the plenary sessions.
