Call for Papers (CfP) 

Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to invite you to participate in the annual International Conference hosted by the Faculty of Modern Languages at St Cyril and St Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, to be held from 06th to 08th June 2019 in Veliko Tarnovo:




LANGUAGES, CULTURES, COMMUNICATIONS 

This annual event is open to all academic specialists in the broad research field of cultural, literary and linguistic studies and other related disciplines, as well as to students and post-graduates for whom a separate section will be provided. It offers a platform for presenting research results and exchanging ideas in the field of modern languages and other related areas. The conference programme will also feature a round-table discussion (on 7 June) on Philologies: contemporary perspectives.

 Proposals are welcome in the following topic strands:

  • Linguistics
  • Literary Studies
  • Cultural Studies
  • Communication and Media Studies
  • Translation Studies: Theory and Practice
  • Methodology of Language and Literature Teaching
  • Medieval Studies (session dedicated to Prof. Ivan Galabov)
  • Onomastics (session dedicated to Prof. Nikolaj Kovachev) 

For those unable to attend the conference in person, distance attendance option is available.  

Working languages: Bulgarian, English, and Russian. If your presentation is in another language, please provide handouts in Bulgarian or English. 

 Registration fee: 50 BGN // 25 EUR (for applications before 1 April, 2019) 60 BGN //30 EUR (for applications until 1 May 2019)  

There is no charge to attend for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Conference Programme and paper publication guidelines will be published on the website of the Faculty of Modern Languages at the end of May 2019. Selected papers will be included in Studia philologica Universitatis Velikotarnovensis after peer-review and originality check.
