The issue, entitled “In memoriam Iulia Mărgărit,” will honour her important scholarly contribution to the study of dialectal vocabulary, onomastics, and etymology. The editors invite original articles that continue and develop research in areas closely connected with her academic work.
The special issue aims to bring together studies focusing primarily on onomastics, toponymy, and dialectal lexicology, approached from synchronic, diachronic, dialectological, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
– the formation, structure, and evolution of proper names;
– toponymy, toponymic stratification, and microtoponymy;
– relationships between names, space, memory, and identity;
– Romanian dialectal vocabulary, diatopic variation, and lexical areas;
– processes of lexical preservation, innovation, and circulation;
– language contact and dialectal etymology;
– research based on linguistic atlases, fieldwork, dialect archives, dictionaries, digital corpora, and other relevant documentary sources.
