Конференция «Творчество Льюиса Кэрролла», посвященная 190-летию со дня рождения писателя

25 февраля 2022 года Горно-Алтайский государственный университет проводит республиканскую научно-практическую конференцию «Творчество Льюиса Кэрролла», посвященную 190-летию со дня рождения писателя.

К участию в конференции приглашаются преподаватели и обучающиеся

образовательных учреждений, аспиранты, исследователи, методисты и учителя-

словесники, библиотечные специалисты. 

Приглашаем принять участие в обсуждении следующих вопросов:

- литературный и научный мир Л. Кэрролла;

- игровая поэтика и символизм в творчестве Л. Кэрролла;

- особенности идиостиля Л. Кэрролла;

- лингводидактический аспект произведений Л. Кэрролла;

- ценностные ориентиры в произведениях Л. Кэрролла;

- антропонимика и топонимика в произведениях Л. Кэрролла;

- лирика Л. Кэрролла;

- литературные открытия Л. Кэрролла;

- фильмография произведений Л. Кэрролла.

Конференция будет проходить заочно. Рабочие языки: русский и английский.

La nouvelle version se distingue en outre par sa clarté et ses nouveaux contenus, comme par exemple un «portrait» des recherches toponymiques en Suisse ou des exemples de recherche utiles.

toponymes.ch rassemble des données de recherche sur la toponymie de toute la Suisse et les met à disposition du public de manière homogène et claire.

toponymes.ch/ortsnamen.ch est bilingue (français et allemand) et est réalisé par le Schweizerisches Idiotikon avec le soutien du Glossaire des patois de la Suisse romande.

Mapping events of the Catalan Society of Onomastics 1973-2021

The Catalan Society of Onomastics holds its annual conferences throughout the territory in collaboration with study centers, universities and academic institutions. From 2010 onwards, the Conferences were held every three years in order to be able, in the intervening years, to organize local seminars and meetings. From 2019, they are to be organized anually again. 

Corpus MoNoPoli: Mots construits sur Noms propres de personnalités Politiques

La base de données MoNoPoli, pour Mots construits sur Noms propres de personnalités Politiques, contient 6 500 désanthroponymiques différents qui se réalisent en environ 55 000 occurrences contextualisées (Huguin, à paraître). Chaque entrée de la base décrit une occurrence de l’un des désanthroponymiques collectés. Cette description est décomposée en une soixantaine de traits qui décrivent, pour chaque désanthroponymique : ses propriétés morphologiques (patron de construction), catégorielles, morphophonologiques et sémantiques. La base de données est disponible ci-dessous.

The MoNoPoli database (for Mots construits sur Noms propres de personnalités Politiques, i.e. ‘words derived on politician proper names’) contains 6,500 deanthroponyms, amounting to a total of 55,000 tokens. Each entry in the database describes a token of one of the 6,500 deanthroponyms collected. This description is decomposed into a hundred or so features which describe, for each deanthroponym: its morphological properties such as its pattern, its category, and its morphophonological characteristics. The database is available below.

Onomastic Highlights 2021

Just like last three years (2019, 2018, 2020), I decided to sum up the most interesting onomastic highlights of the outgoing year. Call for Papers Session 385 „Place Name and Archaeology – New Interdisciplinary Approaches in Europe“

This session explores the potentials of place names in archeology, focusing on the methods of inter-disciplinary enquiry, how they are viewed and used in various countries, research environments and within different prehistoric and historic periods. The interdisciplinary use of place name studies and archaeology have long traditions in many countries. However, the preconditions of this type of research have been changing in later decades with new methods in archaeological surveying and natural sciences and with fast developments in metal detecting and archaeological excavations. Where do we stand today and how can we improve and renew our views on toponymy and on the methodological challenges we face when combining these linguistic remains with the material record?

Place names can offer unique insights into past peoples’ perceptions of land and sense of place and thereby provide access to emic categories otherwise unavailable to archaeologists. Names are active elements in ongoing discourses about the landscape and there may be intimate connections between places, names and populations. Toponymy can reflect or invoke feelings on both individual and collective levels. Distributions of place names across Europe further remind us that the languages of the past did not follow modern day national borders. 

The session aims to bring together scholars working on onomastics and archaeology in different parts of Europe to provide a forum for exchange of ideas and discussions on possibilities, perspectives and limitations of the use of place names. We particularly welcome case studies showing the use of place names as a resource in archaeological landscape studies and how this type of interdisciplinary work can contribute to our understanding of the roles of names in the landscape e.g. as links to the past, in creation of identities and in the organisation of settlement and society.

Call for contributions ends on  Thursday 10 February 2022, 23:59 CET. After this date the session organisers and the Scientific Committee will evaluate all contributions and sessions and decide whether the contribution is accepted, rejected, recommended for revision or suggested for different session then submitted to. Following the evaluation by both session organisers and the Scientific Committee, the EAA Secretariat will announce accepted contributions before 24 March 2022. Presenters (first authors) then need to settle both payment of membership and conference registration fee before 21 April 2022, in order to have the contribution added to the scientific programme of the Annual Meeting. Once the unpaid authors are removed from the programme they will not be added back - no exceptions possible.

The American Name Society was founded in 1951, meaning they are 70 years old!
