Onomastic Conference ACTA 60 cancelled

It's official now. After much consideration, the organisers decided to cancel the Conference ACTA 60 due to the pandemic situation. Originally it was supposed to be held in Ostrava in April 2020. They hoped then it would be possible to postpone up to October 2020, but finally they decided it would be safer not to take risks. Thank you for understanding such a step. We hope that this great onomastic event will be rescheduled.

Dear colleagues,

It's official now. After much consideration, the organisers decided to cancel the Conference ACTA 60 due to the pandemic situation. Originally it was supposed to be held in Ostrava in April 2020. They hoped then it would be possible to postpone up to October 2020, but finally they decided it would be safer not to take risks. Thank you for understanding such a step. We hope that this great onomastic event will be rescheduled.  

I have to inform you that because of the coronavirus, we have decided to take the following steps:
1) it is not possible to hold the conference in April 2020;
2) preliminarily, we would like to postpone the term of the conference to the first week of October 2020 (5th–7th);
3) around 15th August 2020, we will send you the final decision about the conference organization, or its cancellation – I hope we will choose the former;
4) the deadline for submitting your papers to the reviewing process of Acta onomastica will be postponed – please, follow https://kcj.osu.cz/.

I hope that during the next months, the situation will become better, and we will win the fight against the COVID-19. The first step is to stop its spreading. This is the reason for this decision.

– Sixty Years of the Czech Onomastic Journal

The conference is organized to the 60th anniversary of the Czech onomastic journal appearing as Acta onomastica since 1995.

The journal was founded in 1960 by Vladimír Šmilauer, the father of the modern Czech onomastics. In the period of 1960–1982, it was published under the title Zpravodaj Místopisné komise ČSAV (‘the Bulletin of the Onomastic Committee of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences’) later as Onomastický zpravodaj(ČSAV) (‘the Onomastic Bulletin of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences’).

Guidelines for Presentations and Registration

The conference languages are Czech and English. The authors are responsible for the content and language of their papers. Presentations of papers should not exceed 15 minutes; PowerPoint presentations are required.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is November 15, 2019. You will be notified about the acceptance of your paper no later than December 31, 2019. All participants whose presentations are accepted must pay the fee (the payment must be received no later than February 15, 2020) in order to be included in the conference programme.

The conference papers are planned to be published in the journal of Acta onomastica (indexed in SCOPUS), after standard review processes. The deadline for submitting the final versions of your texts is August 31, 2020 (z.dvorakova@ujc.cas.cz, Žaneta Dvořáková).

60 let českého onomastického časopisu

  

Konference se uskuteční v Ostravě v termínu 20.–22. dubna 2020. Je věnována 60. výročí založení českého onomastického časopisu, který od roku 1995 vychází pod názvem Acta onomastica.

Časopis byl založen roku 1960 Vladimírem Šmilauerem, otcem moderní české onomastiky. V letech 1960–1982 vycházel pod názvem Zpravodaj Místopisné komise ČSAV, později pak jako Onomastický zpravodaj (ČSAV).

Referáty a registrace

Konferenčními jazyky jsou čeština a angličtina. Autoři jsou zodpovědní za obsah a jazykovou stránku svých příspěvků. Prezentace referátu by neměla přesáhnout 15 minut; povinnou součástí referátu je prezentace v programu PowerPoint.

Termín odevzdání abstraktů je 15. listopadu 2019. Oznámení o (ne)přijetí referátu obdrží přihlášení do 31. prosince 2019. Všichni účastníci, jejichž příspěvek bude přijat, musí zaplatit konferenční poplatek, aby mohli být zahrnuti do programu konference. Platba musí být přijata nejpozději do 15. února 2020.

Konferenční příspěvky budou publikovány v časopise Acta onomastica (časopis je indexován v databázi SCOPUS), a to po standardním recenzním řízení. Termín odevzdání finálních textů je 31. srpna 2020 (z.dvorakova@ujc.cas.cz, Žaneta Dvořáková). Do předmětu e-mailu prosím uveďte své příjmení a zkratku ACTA 60.
